Early Years of Metal Construction (1964)

METKA’s first metal constructions manufacturing plant begins its operations in Volos in 1964. METKA is a pioneer for complex metal constructions at the time and quickly becomes established as the leader in the Greek market.

Listed in the Athens Stock Exchange (1973)

The listing of the METKA on the Stock Exchange provides a new momentum for the company's development. It carries out its first international projects.

Engineering Expertise and Technological Development (2004)

METKA gains significant expertise in gas turbine based power plants, including combined cycle, co-generation and simple cycle projects, providing customers with highly competitive solutions with world-class performance.

Over 6GW of natural gas fired plant capacity is currently under execution by METKA, in 6 different countries.

Construction of the Olympic Velodrome (2004)

METKA has successfully completed highly demanding projects in the infrastructure sector, such as the construction of the steel roof structure of the Olympic Velodrome, at the main athletics complex of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, designed by the renowned architect Santiago Calatrava.

Largest Combined Cycle Power Plant in Romania (2008)

The 860MW Combined Cycle Power Plant in Petrom’s refining facilities in Romania is the largest combined cycle power plant ever to be constructed in the Balkans Region.

The project was successfully delivered in 2011, in consortium with GE and consisted of a 860MW natural gas fired combined cycle power plant, in 2+2+1 configuration, with auxiliary installations and interconnections inside the refinery.

METKA continues its strategy towards development and further expansion of its infrastructure activities, aiming to undertake complex large-scale infrastructure projects, including, among others, railways, private concessions, high-standard structural projects, as well as environmentally friendly waste management solutions.

Strategic Alliance in the Global Market of Photovoltaic / Hybrid Energy Projects (2015)

Through its new subsidiary company, METKA EGN, METKA focuses on the development and construction of large-scale projects for the global photovoltaic and energy storage markets.

By 2018, keeping up with the latest technology trends with particular emphasis on environmental protection and energy efficiency, the company successfully implements photovoltaic / hybrid power projects exceeding 800MW in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
